أعلنت السلطات الإسبانيّة أنّ رجال الإطفاء الإسبان والبرتغاليّين الّذين يُكافحون حريقاً في منطقة، مساحتها 8500 هكتار في منطقة إكستريمادورا الإسبانيّة، يأملون في تحقيق تقدُّمٍ كبيرٍ اليوم.

وقال منسّق الدفاع المدني نيفيس فيلار "نأمل أن نوجه ضربة كبيرة اليوم للحريق، وهناك الكثير من الموارد على الأرض، والعمل الذي نقومُ به مكثَّفٌ جداً"، مشيراً إلى أنّ "الرياح ضعيفةٌ في المنطقة".
